The action of the laser is based on selective photo-thermolysis. The light energy of the laser or pulsed light targets the hair’s melanin (its color) and is transformed into heat to destroy the hair follicle, while respecting the surrounding skin. Once the hair follicle is destroyed, the hair is expelled in the following days and does not grow back. This follicle will not be able to produce hair anymore.
In practice, a white skin with black hairs will allow a maximum efficiency, on the contrary the Laser will not work on hairs that are too light.

THE LASERS USED

The most commonly used laser for hair removal is the Alexandrite laser. But for darker skin types, the NdYag laser can be used for the permanent hair removal. In certain cases and for certain areas, we prefer to use a medical flash lamp (or pulsed light).
